Our guest speaker on 02/04/10 was Rachel McDaniel of the Pike Journal-Reporter. Rachel grew up in the Thomaston area, graduated from Georgia Southern University, and worked for several newspapers before returning to our local area to be near family. She started with the Journal-Reporter in April, 2009. Her responsibilities include reporting on local events (writing stories, taking pictures) and working on the layout of the newpaper each Monday as it is made ready for printing. Rachel and her husband have a 14 month old daughter Lola and live in our local area.
