Kim Rogers, Administrator at CrossPointe Christian Academy, and Karen Westbrooks, also on staff at CrossPointe, were the guest speakers at our first meeting in 2010.
Kim Rogers has been the Adminstrator at CrossPointe for the past four years and was on staff at CrossPointe prior to then. CrossPointe was founded in 1994 (at that time it was called Hollonville Chistian School). It started as a pre-K program and has since grown to include all grades (pre-K through high school). Presently there at 150 students enrolled (40 in high school, 31 in junior high, 79 in elementary). The school uses a university model approach to teaching the older grades - it is intended to better prepare the students for when they enter college. Extra curricular activities that are offered include football, cheerleading, majorettes, and soccer. Two foreign languages are offered (Spanish is offered for all age levels, and Japanese). Karen Westbrooks shared that the goal of the pre-K program includes providing age appropriate education to prepare the students for kindergarden, and showing the young students that learning is fun and exciting.
